about
Moving On is about my experience in mental health/ substance abuse treatment. During this time I spent a lot of time on public transportation. I wrote the song from the perspective of myself as a passenger on a bus in a dream like state. Throughout the song I'm looking out of the window at different phases of my life. The second verse reflects on people that I've lost on my journey. It's to say that they've made me who I am and I will carry their memory for as long as I'm alive. In the outro I'm coming to peace with tough times I've been through. The bus has reach its final destination; I'm sitting on a beach watching the sunset saying "Maybe I'm fine." Moments like these make it all worth it.
lyrics
On the bus again going on and on
Sitting hand in hand knowing nothings wrong
It doesn’t get closer than this
It doesn’t get closer than this
It doesn’t get closer than this
To moving on
I’ve had suspicions that my world was close to ending and I was wrong
I’ve had suspicions that my world was close to ending and I was wrong
So here’s where I’m standing
So here’s where I’m standing
So here’s where I’m standing
and I belong
Through the sands of time in an hour class
Some will fall behind and some will last
It doesn’t get closer than this
It doesn’t get closer than this
It doesn’t get closer than this
To moving on
I’ve had suspicions that my world was close to ending and I was wrong
I’ve had suspicions that my world was close to ending and I was wrong
So here’s where I’m standing
So here’s where I’m standing
So here’s where I’m standing
and I belong
Sitting on the shoreline watching all the birds as they pass by
Sitting on the shoreline watching all the birds as they pass by
Sitting on the shoreline watching all the birds as they pass by
Sitting on the shoreline, never had the guts to wonder why
